A Short Hike With a Big Kilimanjaro Experience
Leave Avocado Kilimanjaro Homes in the morning and drive to Marangu Gate, the eastern entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park. After registration, begin your walk through lush tropical rainforest toward Mandara Huts.
Along the route, look for blue monkeys, black-and-white Colobus monkeys and forest birds. Your guide also shares stories about the Chagga people and the mountain.

Meet your guide at Avocado Kilimanjaro Homes and receive a short briefing before departure.
Drive to Marangu Gate
Travel to the eastern entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park. The drive takes about 10 minutes.
Begin the Hike
Complete park registration and start walking through the lush Kilimanjaro rainforest.
Arrive at Mandara Huts
Reach 2,700 metres after roughly 3 to 4 hours of uphill hiking. Enjoy your packed lunch and rest.
Optional Maundi Crater
If time and conditions allow, continue toward Maundi Crater for wider views.
Descend to Marangu Gate
Begin the downhill walk. The descent takes around 2 to 3 hours.
Return to Avocado
Finish the day back at Avocado Kilimanjaro Homes and relax.
